Look, 5 would be the answer if we consider books in pair basis (2), but if we consider the number of books then it must be 10.

During the sale, the price of 2 notebooks = 99c.
Normally, the price of 2 notebooks = 118c (59*2)
The difference between the two = 118-99 = 19c.

If a person bought x notebooks, he would save 95c.
19*x= 95
x=5

5 pairs of 2 books or 10 books.
