In the figure, ABCD is a square, and OB is a radius of the circle. If BC is a tangent to the circle and PC = 2, then what is the area of the square?

BC is tangent to radius OB, so angle OBC is 90°
CO=PC+PO=2+3=5
Now in ∆OBC, a right angled triangle
\(OB^2+BC^2=CO^2.....BC^2=5^2-3^2=4^2....BC=4\)
So side of square is 4..
Area is 4*4=16
