When a certain number is divided by 7, the remainder is 5, so the number must be of the form 7k + 5 = n, say. (Using Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Remainder).
We need to find the remainder when twice of the number is divided by 14. Twice the number = 2n = 2(7k + 5) = 14k +10 which, when divided by 14, will give a remainder of 10.
So, the answer is C.
