Machine A can produce 350 widgets in 1 hour and Machine B can produce 250 widgets in 1 hour
So, in 1 hour they both have made 600 widgets so far.
Leftover Work = 1000 - 600 = 400 widgets
Applying the concept of Relative Velocity, We can assume that they are moving in opposite direction (towards each other), Therefore their speeds (here rates) must be added
So their overall Rate (relative) = 350 + 250 = 600 widgets/hour
T = W/R = 400/600 = 0.6667 hours = 40 mins
Therefore, Total time taken = 1 hour + 40 mins
Hence, option E
