One data entry clerk can input one day's worth of sales information in 5 hours. A second clerk can input one day's worth of information in 4 hours. Working together, how long will it take, in hours, the two clerks to input five day's worth of sales information?
(A) 2 2/9
(B) 4 1/2
(C) 11
(D) 11 1/9
(E) 11 1/4
Clerk A will complete \(\frac{1}{5}\) in work in 1 hour and Clerk B will complete \(\frac{1}{4}\) in 1 hour.
To gather in one hour they will complete \(\frac{1}{5} + \frac{1}{4} = \frac{9}{20}\) of the work.
For 5 days worth of work or 5 times the work, they will take \( 5 * 20/9 = 100/9 = 11 \frac{1}{9}\) hours.
