One approach is to start checking whether each answer choice is a multiple of 12
A. 34 is NOT a multiple of 12 (i.e., 12 is NOT a factor of 34). ELIMINATE
B. 84 IS a multiple of 12 KEEP
C. 120 IS a multiple of 12 KEEP
D. 204 IS a multiple of 12 KEEP
E. 217 is NOT a multiple of 12 (i.e., 12 is NOT a factor of 217). ELIMINATE
Now check the remaining answer choices and see if they're multiples of 17
B. 84 is NOT a multiple of 17. ELIMINATE
C. 120 is NOT a multiple of 17. ELIMINATE
By the process of elimination, the correct answer is D
