We know FF(flash floods) and Tornadoes in Aug'14 are approx. 30 and 10 respectively.
Now we are given that '14 FF and Tornadoes are 25% more than '13 so essentially we are saying 125/100*FF('13)=30 and 125/100*Tornadoes('13)=10.
Hence we get 24 and 8 respectively.
Now for '15 we are told FF increased by 1/3 so that is 30+1/3*30=40 and Tornadoes increased by 1/2, which is 10+1/2*10=15.
Therefore our difference of events is 55–32=23.
