Here,
(***Remember, the total cost or total revenue is not mentioned, either we can take some fancy number to calculate )
For Store W:: Revenue decreased and cost increased- This definitely have a negative impact on the profit
For Store X:: Revenue increased but cost also increased by 4% - This may led to profit , no profit or loss
Store Y:: revenue decreased and cost increased, this definitely is loss
Store Z:: Revenue increased and cost decreased, so this definitely is profit
the following stores could the profit in 2012 have been less than that same store’s profit in 2011 :: Store W, store Y and store X
(Store X because it can be on profit or loss. Since the question ask COULD BE - this also stands as an one of the option)

I agree with pranab223's reasoning. Why are the answers here A, C, D? Is that a mistake?
