Quant Scores - Important for an English MA?

Hello!
I took a practice tests a few months ago, (going to take another this week) and my math scores were really bad. My english score was great - well over the average for the program I am looking at. I want to get a Teaching Assistanship for an MA in Literature program, and I know math isn't a huge factor.
However, I am working hard to get my math score up a bit so it isn't so bad, but it has been seven years since my last math class, and it is overwhelming to know where to start! I have pretty much forgotten everything - trying to relearn basic things like how to add inequalities etc. Should I focus on what I did wrong, or what I got right? I take the test for real on Oct. 4th.
Thanks in advance!
