Can someone please explain how is the answer 57? i guess the area makes it 72. but how do i find what is the unshaded area to subtract from 72?
am i approaching the right way?

Area of shaded region = (area of large 8 x 9 rectangle) - (area of unshaded trapezoid)
= (72) - (4 + 6)(3)/2
= 71 - 15
= 57
= B
= (72) - (4 + 6)(3)/2
= 71 - 15
= 57
= B
