The triangle is a right triangle where two sides are given, BC and AC.
AC is twice the size of BC hence this is a 30-60-90 triangle.
In a 30-60-90 triangle the length of hypotenuse is twice the length of the shortest side.
therefore the angle BAC opposite the shortest side BC is 30 degree and BCA is 60 degree.
If a perpendicular is dropped from point B to a point let us assume D in side AC we get a new triangle BDC.
Here angle BDC is 90 degree, angle BCD is 60 degree therefore angle CBD is 30 degree.
We know the side opposite the right angle BDC is twice the smallest side.
smallest side is DC which is opposite 30 degree angle.
The length of DC is therefore \(\sqrt{3}\)
Hence side BD is \(\sqrt{3} * \sqrt{3} = 3\)

In right angle triangle, we found AB=6
so, 1/2*6*2√3 = 1/2*BD(=perpedicular from B to AC)*4√3
=> BD= 3
so, 1/2*6*2√3 = 1/2*BD(=perpedicular from B to AC)*4√3
=> BD= 3
