The numerator has a nice difference of squares, which can be factored
Note: a^100 = (a^50)²
So, (a^100 - b^100)/(a^50 - b^50) = (a^50 + b^50)(a^50 - b^50)/(a^50 - b^50)
= a^50 + b^50
Answer: C
