here we do have to options to follow: or we scan every single answer choice-making computations to see what is similar to that in the stem or we try to figure out the shortest way
If you notice the options from A to D are just as equal or simple multiple of the original stem.
E instead seems equal
\(3 𝒙 + 5 = 4 𝒚\)
Squaring the whole equation both sides,
\((3 𝑥 + 5)^2 = (4 𝑦)^2\)
\(9 𝑥^2 + 25 + 30 𝑥 = 16 𝑦^2\)
There is an extra term 30 𝑥 in the whole expression, so it is not equivalent to the given equation.
