Given: \(\frac{x+2}{2}=\frac{12}{x}\)
Since the equation features an equation with one fraction equal to another fraction, we can cross multiply to get: \((x)(x+2)=(2)(12)\)
Simplify to get: \(x^2 + 2x=24\)
Subtract \(24\) from both sides: \(x^2 + 2x-24 = 0\)
Factor: \((x + 6)(x - 4)= 0\)
So, EITHER \(x = -6\) OR \(x = 4\)
If \(x = -6\), then Quantity B is greater.
If \(x = 4\), then Quantity B is greater.
In both possible cases, Quantity B is greater
Answer: B
