One approach is to notice that in quantity A the numerator is increasing and the denominator decreasing, which will make the whole number bigger than quantity B.

Another way to cross multiply to get

A: (x + 1)^2
B: (x - 1)^2

x^2 and 1^2 can cancel on both sides and we are left with:

A: 2x > B: -2x
