We don't know the value of x and y.
Case 1) Lets say x = +2 and y=-2, then xy=-4 which is less than 0.
Then x-y = 2-(-2) = 2+2 = 4
and x/y = 2/-2 = -1
Thus A is greater
Case 2) Let x=-2 and y= +2, then xy = -4
And x-y = -2-2= -4
x/y = -2/2 = -1
Here B is greater.
Thus option D.
We don't know the value of x and y.
Case 1) Lets say x = +2 and y=-2, then xy=-4 which is less than 0.
Then x-y = 2-(-2) = 2+2 = 4
and x/y = 2/-2 = -1
Thus A is greater
Case 2) Let x=-2 and y= +2, then xy = -4

Theory: xy<0 means that both x and y have different signs. Either x>0 and y<0 or x<0 and y>0
Case 1: x>0 and y<0
Example: x = 2, y =-1
Quantity A: x-y = 2 - (-1) = 3
Quantity B: \(\frac{x}{y}\) = \(\frac{2}{-1}\) = -2
So, Quantity A > Quantity B
Case 2: x<0 and y>0
Example: x = -1, y =2
Quantity A: x-y = -1 - 2 = -3
Quantity B: \(\frac{x}{y}\) = \(\frac{-1}{2}\) = -0.5
So, Quantity B > Quantity A
=> We cannot answer unless we know the exact values of x and y
So, answer will be D
