Oxford Saïd And Schwarzman Scholars Introduce Dual MBA And Master’s In Global AffairsOxford University’s Saïd Business School and the Schwarzman Scholars recently announced the launch of their new full-time, joint Oxford MBA/Schwarzman Scholars-Tsinghua Master’s in Global Affairs degree program. The program will welcome its first class in 2016; students will spend one year in Beijing at Tsinghua University, and then, upon successful completion of that year, a second year at Oxford Saïd. The Schwarzman Scholars press release explains that the Saïd MBA will complement and build upon the work students complete in the master’s program, thereby “challenging them to create entrepreneurial solutions to complex global challenges and to further develop the soft skills needed for impact in their work and career.” According to Schwarzman Scholarship founder, Stephen A. Schwarzman, “The combination of our two degrees provides an unparalleled opportunity for future leaders who understand the critical role China will play in the business environment of the 21st century.” Dana Brown, Director of the Oxford MBA, adds, “It is vital for future business leaders to truly understand the global and complex nature of the business environment they will be operating in. This partnership allows a select group of students to build in-depth knowledge, networks, and experience in China through the Schwarzman Scholars program, before gaining a deep understanding of global business practices and cutting-edge management practices by completing the Oxford MBA.” The Schwarzman Scholarship Program is the newest arrival on the prestigious international scholarships scene, and the first to focus exclusively on China. It will allow up to 200 students annually (fewer in the first year) to study for a master’s degree at Tsinghua University. Schwarzman Scholars will study together at a purpose-built facility on the Tsinghua campus, and choose a focus in Public Policy; Economics/Business; or International Studies. Scholars will also have the opportunity to participate in internship placements while in China. The program is open to international applications, with the distribution of awards being approximately 45% to US students, 20% to Chinese students, and 35% from other countries. The application process is rigorous and stresses leadership, entrepreneurial mindset, and ambassadorial qualities along with academic achievement and intellectual ability. Applications are now open for the first class of scholars. Are you interested in applying to this new joint program? To participate, you must apply to and get accepted to both Oxford Saïd and the Schwarzman Scholars program. We can help!
