Multiplier is a great way to solve this kind of question.
When the value increases by \(x\)%, the multiplier will be \(1 + x\)%
When the value decreases by \(x\)%, the multiplier will be \(1 - x\)%
Here the value decreases every month by \(2.5\)%, so the multiplier will be \(1 - 0.025 = 0.975\)
Cost in January $\(1420\)
We need cost in march so the value will decrease 2.5% by each month.
Cost in march \(= 1420 * 0.975 * 0.975\)
