If Achmed owns A jackets, B shirts and C pairs of trousers, then the Fundamental Counting Principle (FCP) tells us that the total number of outfits = ABC In other words we get: ABC = 90 (different outfits)
Since we're told A = 5 and C = 3, we can plug these values into our equation (ABC = 90) to get: (5)(B)(3) = 90 Solve to get B =6
Answer: B
