The cost of the drum set is $180, and Alice and Beth will pay later. So, the cost will be divided equally among the remaining 3 members: Clan, Dino, and Eric.
Each of the 5 members would have paid $36 ($180 divided by 5) if everyone had contributed equally.
Since Alice and Beth did not contribute anything initially, the remaining three members had to pay an additional amount equal to what Alice and Beth would have paid. The additional amount each of the remaining three members had to pay is:
(Alice's share + Beth's share) ÷ 3 = ($36 + $36) ÷ 3 = $24
So, Dino had to pay $24 more than he would have paid if everyone had contributed equally. Therefore, the answer is option (C) $24.
