The length of rectangle B is 10% less than the length of rectangle A, and the width of B is 10% greater than A.
Quantity A Quantity B
The area of A The area of B
Quant A is greater
Quant B is greater
Both the same
Indeterminable
I selected indeterminable. As I understand it Length B=.9LA, Width B=1.1WA, LA=1.1LB, and WA=.9WB.
I just plugged 10 and 5 in for random amounts. If LB=10 and WB=5, then LA=11 and LB=4.5 Thus, the Area of B=50 and the Area of A=49.5. However, if LA=10 and WA=5, then LB=9 and WB= 5.5. In that case, the area of A would be 50 and the area of B would be 49.5. How did I screw this up? Thanks in advance for your help!!
