Hello everyone,
After studying for around two months, I have taken PP1 and scored 159V and 160Q. Actually, before I tried to complete just the quantitative part and scored 163. I believe the reason why my first score was higher is because I took the complete mock exam at 9 pm after working and studying all day. I have to say that the quantitative mistakes I have made were really stupid.
Nevertheless, after two months of studying, I am not satisfied with the results. I am applying for Business PhDs and my dream school has an average of 326. I will be trying to take GRE at the beginning of September to see how the tests is but I wouldn't want to repeat GRE more than twice.
I am enrolled in the
Target Test Prep quantitative course now and before I finished the Manhattan 5lb, did some of
Magoosh quantitative questions, and took a one-month class to prepare for GRE quantitative (this was pretty useless). The hard questions of the TTP course should be comparable to the real exam ones, right?
For Verbal, instead, I have watched some videos by GregMat on youtube and I am trying to memorize vocabularies. However, I have an issue with RC. I am a non-native English speaker and before I took IELTS and score 8.5/9 in the reading part but GRE's RC is completely different. Sometimes I read the texts and feel like I do not understand what's written at all. Do you have any advices on how I can improve? Any strategies? I have tried to summarise the text in my own words but it has not worked for me.
Moreover, in 20 days how much can I improve from my current score? Any advices? I am currently scoring between 85% to 100% in the TTP's end of the chapters' exercises.
Thank you!
