In the first option x < 1/x, assuming x is a fraction or decimal, then 1/x = reverse of a fraction or decimal. So if we try x = 0.25, then 0.25 < 1/0.25. Which can become 0.25 < 4 or 1/4 < 4. And when x = -0.25, then -0.25 < 1/(-0.25). So -0.25 < -4 or -1/4 < -4. And this is incorrect. Is this why option 1 is not the correct answer?
