If f is a fraction between −1 and 1, which of the following must be true?
A. \(f^7 < f^5\)
B. \(f^6 – f^7 < f^4 – f^5\)
C. \(f^6 + f^7 < f^5 + f^4\)
D. \((–f)^3 < f^3\)
E. \(f^6 < f^4\)
Kudos for the right answer and explanation
ASIDE: I doubt that the GRE test-makers would use the term "fraction" in this case, since 0/1 is considered a fraction (as is 1/1, 2/1, 3/1, etc.) in the GRE Official Guide.
If f = 0/1 (aka 0), then none of the statements are true.
