If one-third of the water is removed with each stroke of drainage pump, what fraction of the original amount is left after 4 strokes?
A) \(\frac{1}{27}\)
B) \(\frac{4}{9}\)
C) \(\frac{8}{27}\)
D) \(\frac{16}{81}\)
E) \(\frac{16}{243}\)

Here,
One stroke of water is removed, so the amount left after 1 stroke = \(1 - \frac{1}{3} = \frac{2}{3}\)
Since the number of strokes = 4
Hence, the total amount of water left after 4 stroke = \(\frac{2}{3} * \frac{2}{3} * \frac{2}{3} * \frac{2}{3} = \frac{16}{81}\)
