For any triangle, the sum of any two sides has to be greater than the third side, and the difference of any two sides has to be less than the third side. That means that the third side has to be less than 14, but greater than 2.
So our perimeter has to be somewhere between (but not including) 6+8+2, or 16, and 6+8+14, or 28.
20 and 24 are possible perimeters, so rule those out.
