We're told that y = 60° Since opposite angles are equal, we can add another 60° angle. Since all 3 angles must add to 180°, we know the 3rd angle in the triangles is 30° So, it's opposite angle must also be 30°
Since opposite angles are equal, this other angle must be z°
Let's let the 3rd angle in the triangles be k°
Now look at the RED and BLUE triangles.
From the RED triangle, we can conclude that k + x + z = 180 (since all 3 angles must add to 180°) From the BLUE triangle, we can conclude that k + x + 30 = 180 (since all 3 angles must add to 180°)
Subtract the bottom equation from the top equation to get: z - 30 = 0 So, it must be the case that z = 30
