substitute y=3 and then x=-2 into the linear equation 3x + 2y = 12 to get the coordinates of the boundaries of the shape. We draw it and see it is a right angle triangle: by definition x=-2 and y=3 are perpendicular.
Since the y coordinate substituting x=-2 is y=9 we know that the height of the triangle is 6 (y=9-3) ;
in the same way substitute y=3 and get that the x coordinate is x=2, so the basis is 4 ( x=2-(-2)).
A=4*6*0.5=12
