Dear GRE community,
I recently decided to drop GMAT entirely due to the AWA + quant ceiling (got a few wrongs and scored abysmally low).
I’m fully committed to going for the GRE now. I heard from everyone that Gregmat/TTP are the best in the industry for the GRE, so I am planning to subscribe to either or both.
The issue I’m facing is, that I feel most of the 1/2 month programs on Gregmat are not meant for someone who switched from GMAT(because of the overlapping math syllabus that I covered during my 4-month prep). So I’m kinda scratching my head on how to proceed.
For reference, my first GRE mock is 154V/160Q (took it a few days ago with 0 GRE prep). I struggled with the geometry questions because I never had to study for those on the GMAT. I slightly struggled with verbal because of the format, I was pretty good at Verbal on the gmat and constantly scored 80+ percentile and answered 80-90+/655+ percentile questions accurately. I’m beginning to memorise words now and have a lot of fun doing it because of my natural inclination towards verbal content (I’m a native speaker).
Could anyone direct me on how I should start my GRE prep as someone coming from GMAT? I heard the 5lbs Manhattan book is good for Quant, and for verbal Gregmat would be the way to go. I am very lost on the Prep because I came from the GMAT FE world... Would love any advice on my circumstances! I’m planning to take the test in a month. Aiming for a 320+ score.

Hi sir
Well, in GENERAL coming from the GMAT and jump into the GRE you should be half away your path. However, this not necessarily means that it is easier than the GMAT.
Both are great resources, and both have negative and positive sides. Based on my experience I would not have a clear suggestion. A lot depends on you habits of study and the way you implement your daily schedule
Weird. But in my humble opinion when you switch to another exam, even though both have a common ground, you need to forget the previous one (GMAT) and dedicating to the new one (GRE) with a new perspective
It is good but quant needs improvement and verbal needs a boost, definitely. The fact you absorb the vocabulary easily is a great deal. As for the GRE the issue are text completion and sentence equivalence which are different. RC and CR are the same
Ideally your roadmap to the GRE is the following

Wow, thanks for your prompt response, I love you.
When I was dealing with GRE quant questions via PP1 Prep, it felt a lot easier for me, the overall exam felt like it fitted me a lot more. I understand the nuances of going from GMAT to GRE, but after that mock I had yesterday, I knew that the GRE was for me.
The GRE verbal is tricky because it has much to do with memorisation, but I will give my best shot.
From your perspective should I relearn all quant chapters all over again and start afresh? Ideally, my plan is to finish the geometry quant sections, prep for my verbal over the course of a few weeks, and take a few more mocks from ETS to gauge my readiness. I am currently on gregmat and trying out the 1/2 month course.
