Hello There!!
I am 19 years old and finishing up my undergrad, and I would like to know how an MA masters differs from an MSc. I heard from someone that Msc degrees are more theoretical, and they mainly prepare candidates for PhD-level research, whereas MA's are more practical and are made for entering directly into careers. However, a lot of graduates schools seem to admit candidates with M.A. So, what's the difference in the end? Plus, I noticed the course contents often have uniformity. I mean, is it an academic marketing strategy to renders some programs more appealing?
Hi There!
Although I do not have complete knoweledge about this but, major difference between both the courses is that the MA is a terminal degree while an MSc isn’t. A terminal degree is usually the highest type of degree that an individual can receive in his or her field. While an MSc is usually a degree that prepares the students for working on doctoral degrees.
So you can choose according to your choice and career goal. Either you can confirm it with the school if you are interested in PhD before selecting a master.
Hope this helps!
