A shortcut to this is to consider root(2) instead of 2root(2) in the second bracket. Using a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b) formula, we get -[2-8] = -(-6) = 6
Now when we multiply 2 numbers, A * B, if B increases, then the total product increases too.
The initial product value is 6, but we add one more root(2) to B, so the total product value should be more than 6. The minus sign outside the product in the question makes it invariably positive.
The only option greater than 6 is 8. (E)
