Carcass

Hello Carcass!

Thank you so much.

My main problem in reading is how to manage the time, I got wrong many short passage questions and some of long passages.

I start to be in a hurry and "reading" fast but in real I dont understand quite well....

I don't know how to fix that :(

At a glance from this very first portion of the test, what is immediately clear is a problem in the time management of the questions. two minutes around, clearly, are too much. Considering also that we do have two easy questions (one is wrong and is a QCQ that usually are the fastest to solve), one medium , and one hard.

From this we do have the same considerations above. However, we start to see a pattern: it seems the student is more comfortable with real-life problems rather than pure math. The student should investigate this thanks to an error log or what are his/her weaknesses

Notice the third question above is rated 2 and is a QCQ but the time the student took is almost 3 minutes to pick it correct. what that means to us ?' Well. Deftones one alarm. To fix immediately or take a course of action

Once again, time management problem but maybe a good little news: the last question is rated 5 (the hardest) and the student took 3 seconds to nail it: my feeling he had a stroke of huge luck in it or a good guessing strategy.

Notice how this first section of the quant report is incomplete. Just 18 questions

All the questions are correct with a repeating pattern of the problems shown above. However, here we do have pure-math questions across all levels nailed correctly. That means, in regards to the first section, the student knows the certain area and he is confident in them and in certain areas is lacking

Notice above 5 minutes for a NE question. It is of 5 levels but almost 5 minutes are an eternity in an exam environment.

Take away from this report

  • Pivotal is to fix the time management strategy. Please see my guide https://gre.myprepclub.com/forum/gre-time- ... tml#p57077
  • Try to understand the areas where the student is weak
  • keep an error log. It is a must
  • The Quant score should be around 158 which is the result of 130+25 (questions correct) = 155 + some bonus point, being the two sections on the medium level

Hello Carcass!

They you very much, I will improve my time management, actually my score was 159 so really good analysis.

Btw...

How to improve the "PURE MATH PROBLEMS"?, which are those?

Thank you very much!

Pure math questions don't require any interpretation of words or passages. The question is just straight math or algebra.
Conversely, real world questions require some kind of interpretation of a passage.

So, for example, solving an equation, or simplifying a complex exponential expression would be considered pure math.
Conversely, a word problem in which you must find Bill's age 5 years ago would be considered a "real-world" question
