The total number of garments sold at a shop during the week starting with Monday and ending with Sunday is 30, with the number of garments sold on any day is greater than the number of garments sold on the previous day. At least one piece of garment was sold on each day.
The minimum number of garment sold on a day = 1, and based on condition given in question stem we know the number of garments sold on each day can be represented as : M<T<W<Th<F<Sat<Sun
So if we consider the value of garment sold on Monday = 1 , then the other days values become 1<2<3<4<5<6<7 --> total garments = 1+2+3+4+5+6+7 = 28 , but given the total is 30 , so we can write 1<2<3<4<5<7<8 = sum of 30
so this is one possible scenario, and we see that the value of garments sold on Thursday is 4
so let us try to increase the value of garment sold on Thursday (remember decreasing the value from 4 is not an option as it will violate both the conditions of number of garments sold on any day and the minimum number of garment sold on each day given in the question stem)
Now let us say the value for Thursday is 5 --> so we can write the condition as 1<2<3<5<6<7<8 = sum of 32 , so we see that if we try to increase the value for Thursday to 5 , we violate the condition of total number of garments sold as 30 , so for any case to satisfy the conditions given in the question, the value for Thursday has to be 4 .
Thus, answer C
