GRE A right circular cylinder with a radius.png
A right circular cylinder with a radius of 2 feet and a length of 6 feet is cut into three pieces of equal length. What is the volume, in cubic feet, of each of the three pieces?
A. 2π
B. 3π
C. 8π
D. 12π
E. 24π
If a right circular cylinder of height 6 feet is cut into 3 pieces of equal length then each small right circular cylinder's height will be 2 feet.
Volume of one small right circular cylinder = πr^2 X h cubic feet --> π2^2 x 2 --> π4 X 2.
=> 8π cubic feet. Therefore option C is the correct answer.
