With three weeks of dedicated review I saw a substantial improvement in my Quant score. I loved the layout of the test prep software because the active learning really forces you to interact with the material in order to learn the concepts. Other platforms use videos but with TTP you learn through reading the lessons and completing practice questions. Also TTP has AMAZING analytics, if you use it. Every time you get a practice question wrong you log what caused the error (e.g. careless math mistake, lack of knowledge, reading the question wrong). Overtime you see trends as to why you're answering questions incorrectly. This is powerful tool that gives you insight on what you can do to improve your score without waiting to error log a practice test. Another tip: follow the software, do not cherry pick modules. You get the most out of the software when you follow the course plan set out by the software.
Target Test Prep was such a great tool to achieve my desired grade! I had to juggle a full-time job and studying for the GRE, which wasn't easy, but TTP really helped me organize my study. I actually started off studying with textbooks only, but once I tried TTP I couldn't go back! The structure of the course is super well organized and there are plenty of exercises to go through. My favourite feature was Custom Tests, which allowed me to design my own blocks of just hard questions. With little more than 1 month with TTP I achieved my goals, so no regrets.
I had a very difficult B school testing journey. Starting with the GMAT over a year ago and I took up the TTP GMAT course which helped me completely relearn all math fundamentals as well as advanced techniques I had not seen before. It took me a while to complete as I was far behind but it was very worthwhile in the end. Unfortunately after COVID hit my exams were canceled again and again, so I decided to dive into the GRE instead as they offered online testing more frequently. I took the exam 3 times and ended with a 327 165Q and 162V. I could not have done it without TTP.
I hadn't handled questions related to quadratic equations, geometry and inequalities in nearly a decade when I started preparing for GRE. So naturally, I wasn't doing very well on the practice sets. A friend of mine told me about Target Test Prep and how it had helped him improve his quant score.
I signed up for the $1 trial and loved the course material. The way it's broken down into separate chapters and the question categories at the end of each chapter (Easy, Medium, Hard) make it extremely helpful for someone starting from scratch. I ended up using the course for over a month and used their ready -made study plan. It improved my thought process around quant questions, my approach and the speed in handling them, a lot. I made sure I did all the example questions as part of a chapter which helped me asses my grasp on the chapter, on the go.
I especially loved their bookmark feature as it allowed me to revise the important points from various chapters (that I had bookmarked) the night before my practice and actual test.
I would definitely recommend this course for anyone looking to do a thorough preparation and achieve a high quant score.
I cannot recommend TTP enough. What really differentiates TTP is that they captures the "tricks of the trade" in bite size formats. After every test chapter, you can identify 5-10 takeaways for the test that come in very handy and save you time. I took the GMAT with wildly different quant scores of 42-48. After using Manhattan and Magoosh for Quant I can say TTP is miles ahead of them and I highly recommend! Thanks to their team for also always being a moment's away for help and support. They also make proprietary formula and concept sheets that are great for on the go studying. Highly highly recommend!!
I began studying for the GRE in June 2019 using a variety of unhelpful programs. I took my first GRE in October and was unhappy with my quant score. I researched the best GRE courses to help raise my quant score, and I decided to give TTP a try. TTP was reasonably priced, and I liked the structure of it. I cannot say enough great things about how helpful TTP was in preparing me for my GRE. The explanations to the questions are thorough and simple, and if you have questions, the TTP team is great at answering them. I completed all the modules and did all the practice questions, and it raised my GRE score substantially.
I am someone who always struggles to achieve great scores on quant due to lack of confidence, simple mistakes, and gaps in my fundamental math knowledge. Before using TTP I was going through Magoosh (watched all the review videos and did practically all of the practice problems) and was still only scoring in the 156-158 range on quant. After taking TTP I got a 165 and felt I could have gotten 168+ with just a little more concentration. The reason TTP is so excellent is because of how structured the materials are - they are really designed based on the psychology of learning. Progressing from easy to medium to hard questions in each unit is strategically designed with the easy questions repeatedly drilling you on the fundamental properties and principals so that by the time you reach the hard questions they are second hand nature. Because Magoosh was less structured, it was harder to identify where my mistakes in each unit were. Also, I found the review content much more in depth with TTP (and I preferred the written format to Magoosh's video format also). I will be switching to GMAT prep now and plan on using TTP.
I've been using Target Test Prep for about 3 months and it has been amazing. The course gives a basic breakdown of all of the concepts, along with numerous practice problems check comprehension. The only negative (if you call it a negative) thing about the course is it's length. I started off casually doing the program in march, but after picking up speed in April I am still not through it. I have started doing practice tests without fully completing the course. Nevertheless, I think it is great! Scott and Jeff have also been great and have been quick to respond with questions about the program. I would definitely recommend.
TTP provides a systematic, no-frills approach to learning the necessary math skills needed to do well on the Quant portion of the GRE. To give you an idea of how effective their system is, I usually perform better on the verbal sections of standardized exams vs. quant. On the GRE, I performed better on the Quant. And I only needed to take the exam once. I followed their advice - don't take the exam until you are ready.
What I love is how they own their approach: there are no shortcuts. To do well on the GRE Quant, you must be systematic and be persistent. In other words, learn all of the needed skills, then practice like crazy. TTP will guide you through all of that.
As my title states, I wish I utilized TTP’s GRE course sooner. My goal with the GRE was to achieve a score that would make me competive for top MBA programs. I planned to score in the 90th percentile or higher or verbal and quant. I spent months and an excessive amount of time preparing with numerous GRE prep books (manhattan 5 lb, Kaplan, ETS quant, and powerscore), but I could not attain a quant score any higher than the lower end of the 160s.
Luckily, Scott reached out to me about TTP on reddit. Personally, I am a very stubborn individual in terms of seeking help. But, I found that TTP offers a $1 trial of their service, so I figured it would not hurt to spend the dollar to see if I was missing anything with my preparation. Within the first few lessons of the service, I immediately found that I had many gaps in my quant knowledge and that TTP would help me round out my quant skills by providing me ample problems on specific topics so that I could perfect every GRE problem type. So, I bought the service, completed the full course, and reviewed for weeks with it before my exam. I met my goal of 167 in quant as a result!
TTP provides thorough lessons to explain all math material pertaining to the GRE, followed by several sets of practice questions to apply the newly learned skills from the lessons. The class taught me so many useful short-cuts to problems that once took me 3-4 min to complete. The best features of TTP are the timer on problems that can be used to set a pace to simulate the GRE setting and the review feature which allows users to review material from a pool of thousands of questions. Highly recommend!
