Which Graduate Schools Do I Apply To

Once you've decided to attend graduate school, your first job is selecting the schools to apply to. There are over 4,000 graduate degree-granting programs in the United States alone, so this can definitely feel daunting. Too often, applicants resort to rankings from US News & World Report or lean too heavily on university branding (Ivy League isn't always the best! I say this as someone with three Yale degrees!). Instead, think in terms of the specific program's strengths, the potential advisors you can work with, and then the university's broader resources.

In Part 3 of Gurufi's series 'Getting Into Grad School' we talk about the factors to consider when selecting a graduate school.
