I believe there will be high probability of repeated questions if you retake the tests, so will not gauge your actual preparedness.

Have you tried any other source, did you exhaust all your paid ETS tests?

Thank you very much for your answer AkkuJi. No, I have only taken the two free ETS tests. So, i guess that you suggest that buying some extra ETS tests will be worth?
Alternatively, how can someone prepare and improve for taking the GRE a second time, after scoring an overall of 317 (Q165/V152), in terms of prep strategy and material ?

Then I believe your areas of improvement must be verbal. quant is already fine. However, if you want improve as well I would do the following

1) going through specific contents in quant to improve more and keeping an error log I will try to eliminate careless mistakes. with 165 usually are those the main issue

After this I would retake the Pp FREE and if you can afford I would buy the PPPLus the third one which is the closest to the real test

Agree to Carcass above, your Q is looking good and you may want to devote time to maintain that (you can use grepreclub Q tests), however V can be improved as there is a lot of scope.

I can't fully guarantee the statement, however after reading review on different forums what I understand is ETS 2 free tests are good to get the feel of the test but to actually measure your performance you may unfortunately have to buy paid tests as they are closest to all available options in the market right now.
